Millridge Associates Inc., is a small consulting company that specialized in IC design quality and physical verification. We offers several consulting services range from physical verification services to ensure that your rule decks (Assura, Diva or Dracule) are up-to-date, efficient and, most importantly, that they fully and correctly represent the manufacturing checks required by your process technology. This unique service is based upon a comprehensive understanding of the custom design flow from schematic entry to final chip assembly and physical verification. 

Companies engaged in IC design rely on physical verification tools such as ( Assura, Diva, and Dracula ) to find layout errors before their designs go to manufacturing. Large, complex rule decks define the manufacturing checks that physical verification tools conduct on these designs.  

Rule decks are modified many times and by many different engineers during their long life. Stringent quality control is paramount to ensuring the integrity of the decks. However, because of the difficulty of maintaining code that has passed between many different hands over a long period of time, redundancies, inefficiencies or (worst of all) errors are inevitable. This can result in time wasted by needless design iterations or even bad silicon.

(a) Deck Development

The Millridge Associates Inc., can delivers a validated and documented rule deck for a specific process technology. We validate Assura, Ver or Diva  DRC or LVS  deck against either a customer-provided layout or test bench, or we can create custom test benches to suit. (b) Deck Audit and Optimization

A deck audit is a highly comprehensive review of your rule decks for accuracy and efficiency. We deliver a detailed report that highlights areas where improvements are necessary to ensure deck integrity and optimal performance. On deck optimization services, we focuse on improving the overall run time of a rule deck without sacrificing accuracy. We deliver an identically functional deck which runs more efficiently. Areas in which we make improvements include eliminating redundant rules, re-coding time-consuming rules, and ensuring the most efficient use of tool features.

(c) EDA and IP reuse Methodology Review

The methodology review identifies how to eliminate verification bottlenecks and hence improve time-to-market. Cadence performs an on-site assessment in which our physical verification experts work with you to analyze your existing verification methodology, to address your specific concerns or objectives, and to make recommendations for improvement. We deliver a detailed analysis of your methodology including recommendations for improvement.

(d) CDK QC and Pre-PG Design audit 

Millridge Associates, Inc. can provide CDK QC analysis report or pre-PG design review. We can provide our physical verification expertise to address your peak resource demand, improve your debug cycle time and reduce delays in final verification to tape-out. Our goals are to minimize your time-to-market by accurately and efficiently verifying and debugging your designs, and to maximize the resulting knowledge transfer with your organization.

(e) Custom Training

Millridge Associates Inc., will work with you to create physical verification custom training that addresses your specific needs. Millridge Associates Inc., develops the course description and material, identifies the target participants within your organization, and coordinates and runs the training classes. We can customize training materials around your own flows and designs. Classes can be held at your own facility.
